July 2010
Reception refurbishment has now been completed.
Thank you for your patience during the building work. We
are all pleased with the new doors!
February 2010 New Doctor
We are pleased to welcome Dr Hazlewood to the practice.
Dr Hazlewood...
"I trained in Sheffield and since graduation in 2002
have worked mainly in Chesterfield at the Royal
Hospital. I have also spent some time in Sheffield where
I trained as a Rheumatology Registrar prior to
commencing my GP training. I commenced the Chesterfield
VTS in 2007 and on completion of my training I worked on
the other side of Chesterfield at Brimington surgery. I
am really pleased to be joining the team here at
Chatsworth Road, and hope my previous experience will
prove useful."
Dr Diez has now left the practice to take up a
partnership post in Crich. Everyone at the practice are
delighted for her success but we are all sorry to see
her leave. She promises to keep in touch!

Swine Flu update - 2nd October 2009
Working pregnant women
We all know that some pregnant women are concerned about attending their
workplace if flu is known to be circulating there. We have heard that this
is a particular problem among teaching staff in some schools.
The HPA advice is quite clear; pregnant women should continue to attend
their workplace although sensible measures should be taken to ensure that
recommended standards of hygiene are followed (catch it, bin it, kill it,
etc).
Some pregnant women will ask their GPs about this. Our advice is that GPs
should follow the HPA line unless there is a particular reason in a
particular case not to (e.g. immuno-compromised or other reason). While you
may feel sympathetic to your patient you should advise her that you cannot
give her a sick note or other recommendation to stay off work and if she
chooses to do so it will be a matter for her to sort out with her employer
according to her employer's procedures.
At risk cohort numbers
We have now been informed that Derbyshire County PCT practices should send
information about numbers in their at risk groups to:
Helen Butler, Block C, St Mary's Court, St Mary's Gate, Chesterfield, S417TD
or email: Helen.Butler@derbyshirecountypct.nhs.uk
Helen is the contact at County PCT who will liaise with Movianto in order to
ensure that appropriate numbers of vaccines are ordered and delivered.
