Administration
The Practice Manager has the overall responsibility
for all administrative and financial aspects within the
practice. These duties range from ensuring the smooth
daily operation of the surgery to a high standard of
performance by the staff. She is the focal point for any
management matters concerning the practice.

The administration staff deal with the everyday
running of the surgery, their tasks include processing
prescriptions, results, referral letters,
appointments, medical records for patients being
transferred into and out of the practice.
The reception staff are here to help and they do have
the difficult task of keeping things running smoothly.
To get the best from all the team, help them to
help you. Please be patient when the surgery is busy and
remember a smile and a thank you is always appreciated.

Full Time
The asthma and COPD clinic is run by Sister McVicar who
has a diploma in asthma care and COPD, as well as HRT,
vaccinations and travel vaccinations, Ischaemic Heart
Disease clinic, hypertension clinic, smears and ear
syringing.

Deals with Ischaemic Heart Disease and Hypertension.

The District Nurse Team are employed by the Community
Health Care Services NHS Trust but are attached solely
to Chatsworth Medical Centre. The District Nurses have
undergone further training and are specialists in
nursing in the community and together provide a wide
range of skills with extended training in wound
management, leg ulcer care, palliative care, continence
promotion, male and suprapubic catheterisation and
wheelchair assessments.
The District Nurses hold a clinic each weekday
morning with the exception of Tuesday.

Phlebotomist; checks blood pressure and measures
height and weight. ECGs and 24 hour BP monitoring.

Our Health Visitors are trained nurses who have
undertaken further training in order to practice within
the community. There are two Health Visitors based at
the surgery who work in close contact with the GPs,
District Nurses, Practice Nurses and the Midwife.
The Health Visitors visit the 0-5 year olds regularly.
They also run weekly baby clinics. Care of the elderly
is also and important part of their job. They work
closely together with the Midwife to provide health
education during pregnancy.

Full antenatal and postnatal care is offered with
options for hospital or home delivery.
Bookings are carried out at the surgery on a Tuesday
morning and antenatal clinics are carried out at the
surgery on Wednesdays. To contact the midwife she
is not in the surgery you can do so by ringing 01246
552577 between 9am-4pm or 01246 200666 at any other
time.
Bernie runs a physiotherapy
clinic within the practice. Bernie offers advice, treatment
and self management strategies for a wide range of musculo-skeletal complaints.
Referral to the clinic is
made through the Doctors.
